About EstimateTask
EstimateTask is a planning-poker tool for software teams, built on one belief: good estimates come from making disagreement visible, not from averaging it away.
It started as a bug report
Every team we have ever worked on had a version of that ticket. The estimation meeting ran long, the number belonged to whoever spoke first, and QA and Ops learned to keep their doubts to themselves. EstimateTask is the fix we kept wishing existed, shipped.
What we believe
Disagreement is data
Dev 5, QA 8, Ops 3 is not noise to average away - it is three different risk pictures that deserve a conversation. EstimateTask keeps the averages per role so the spread stays visible.
The reveal is the moment
Votes stay hidden until everyone has committed, then flip together. Nobody anchors the room, nobody quietly folds to the senior voice, and the flip itself keeps the meeting short.
Guests are first-class
Real estimation includes contractors, stakeholders, and that one specialist who will never make an account. A share link is enough to vote - scoped to one room, nothing else.
The tool should be enjoyable
Estimation happens every sprint, forever. Three themes - boardroom, saloon darts, casino felt - exist because a ritual this frequent deserves some personality.
What it is today
A focused v1: create a room, vote in real time, reveal by role, keep the history. No sprints of setup, no consultant onboarding - a room is ready in under a minute and guests join with a link.
- real-time voting rooms
- dev · qa · ops averages
- guest voting by link
- 3 room themes
- history, stats, outliers
- free tier, no card for trial
Run your next estimation in it
The free tier is a real tier, and the trial needs no card. If something is missing for your team, tell us - the roadmap is short and honest.
